Thirteenth St :A crowd of over 50 people has gather on the top of 13th street, west of the highschool. The fire is still burning strong and seems to be making its way down the hill toward the houses just above 89. The wind has died down some so hopefully the fire will slow, but we wont really know till the morning.

The High School : Fire is still burning, winds seem to be pretty calm, heading southwest back into the firezone. Hopefully we dont get our normal 3:00pm wind change. Highschool is still standing but there are smothered & live fires surrounding the hill above the football field.

6:00 PM Monday January 25th

Evening Briefing @ Heavenly : It seems to have been a productive day around the fire zone. Im happy to say that the fire is now officially 40% under control, a lot better than this mornings 0-5%. All of the teams seem to be working well together in this masterfully planing group attack on the fire. We are not in the clear yet but the emergency crews hope to really take the upper hand tomorrow and controll the fire before the winds start to kick back up on wednesday.

8:00 PM Monday January 25th

Town meeting @ Middle school :Well, the response from the community was huge, their were several thousand people that packed in the Lake Tahoe middle school for tonight meeting. Everyone was pretty calm but as it started to get a little warm in the room people seemed to get antsy. Some good general information was released at the meeting but also a lot of we'll tell you later. Some good news is you shouldn't expect your power to go out that the fire dept's feel like the are starting to really control the fire.
If you weren't there though, the most exciting part of the meeting was when the crowd erupted in boos at the mention on the TRPA. Obviously there is a censuses that there is some room for change( but we'll tackle that one another day.) Obviously i'm leaving out many important details but i will try and follow up with a more thorough report tomorrow.
One other noteworthy moment was when in the silence of one of the speakers, one fireman's radio cried out with a report of a possible fire at "party rock", while i have not been able to confirm or disqualify this report, it is definitely a good reminder that we are not out of this mess yet. We all need to band together as a community and face the challenges of the next days, months and years.

Sorry liited time for updates, check back later tonight :

9:00 PM Tuesday January 26th

Tahoe Keys :
Firefighters have mostly contained the spot fire by the Tahoe Keys, residents can now return to their homes, atleast till tomorrrow. Everyone is crossing their fingers but tomorrow's wind are supposed to be high and their seems to be a real possibility that things could either clear up or turn for the worse tomorrow. Fire control & people control: While the fire is the main danger, the police to seem to be taking other factors into account. While trying to enter the keys tonight i was stop by police and not allowed to enter until the resident i was visiting came out to meet me. While everyone is trying to think positive, the police want to make sure that there is no chance of looting or other shady conduct. While things seemed to slip a little out of control this afternoon, all of hte emergency services seem to have a clear gameplan and are proceeding with a clean plan.

SLT High School - We'll be back :
At today's afternoon press conference at the high school, city and state officials, including the Governator took some time to review the current state of the situation and the plan for the future. While they are officially saying that the fire is 44% contained, they feel that they infact have a much better control over the fire, provided the wind doesnt pick up too much this afternoon. Officials also said that they are already working with thw TRPA inorder to modify regulations inorder to allow residents to create more defensible space on their property
